more about this research

In Kenya, LPP research in collaboration with local NGOs, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and others has created a series cartoon books (the "Wambui Finds Out" series). Aimed at education, pupils colour-in the booklets in primary schools. The books communicate technical messages on livestock production and animal health of cattle, and small livestock species such as goats, rabbits and bees, which can provide income and nutrition for poorer families.  Household surveys have shown that through taking the books home, children are spreading messages to community groups such as women and poorer farmers, often marginalized by traditional technical extension services. Similar booklets have also been produced under the "Abebe and Kibede" and Miti ni Mali" titles
