Summary

Due to poverty, a high population density and many landless people, a special effort is required to reach the poor and landless, especially the women.

The paper describes the evolution in GOB's work that has led to the development of the Bangladesh Poultry Development Model, which has been found to be very effective in reaching and involving poor women in economic development.
